Tehran (IP) - The UN resident coordinator in Iran, Ugochi Daniels, has said from the beginning of the floods the United Nations has worked very closely with the Iranian government, and the UN supports all countries going through a humanitarian crisis.

Iran Press/Iran news: At a meeting held at the interior ministry, attended by many foreign ambassadors, United Nations representatives, and Iran's interior minister, Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli, the interior minister through the UN's humanitarian aid.

Ugochi Daniels, the UN resident coordinator in Iran, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sideline of the meeting said: "The UN has done a lot since the beginning of floods and has worked very closely with the Iranian government as well as with the rest of the international community to provide assistance to the Iranian government at this time."

The United Nations official continued by saying: "As the UN, we have already provided medicines, tents and other items for flood victims so that they can establish their temporary homes."

She added: "As we saw today, there is a great participation of international community and all of us showed our solidarity to the government of Iran and we will continue to do so."

Daniels went on to say: "The focus for the United Nations has always been that we facilitate assistance and aid for all the countries, all member states of UN, we support countries which are going through a humanitarian crisis, and the UN will continue to play that role."
