Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the president said the US attempt to take advantage of the Iran Nuclear Deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), despite its withdrawal is ridiculous.
Referring to the economic and political pressure of the United States since early 2018, President Hassan Rouhani said, "The aim of the Americans was to subdue the government and the people of Iran to their illegitimate demands, but it became clear to them that it was not possible."
Rouhani stated that a heavy burden was imposed on Iran economically, and enduring these pressures was really a historical miracle.
Referring to the US effort to activate the snapback mechanism, the president said: "One of the clauses of JCPOA and UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is that Iran's arms embargo will be completely lifted as of October, but the Americans tried hard to come up with a propaganda plan and propose a resolution to block it."
Rouhani added: "Everyone is aware that 13 members of the Security Council stood against the United States, and this is unique in history."
He said: "If someone leaves a contract completely and withdraws, he will not be able to return after two or three years."
Rouhani said: "Fortunately, yesterday in Vienna, the P4 + 1 explicitly declared its support for the JCPOA and stated that the United States has no legal basis to put pressure on Iran based on the snapback mechanism."
Rouhani added: "Recently, I spoke to the chairman of the Security Council on the phone, and the chairman fully agreed with me and accepted that the United States has no right to use such a mechanism."
He referred to the beginning of the school year, saying that the schools will be opened on Saturday, September 5th.
"This year, education will be a combination of face-to-face education and E-learning," said Rouhani.
The president also praised the observance of health protocols by people who attended the mourning rituals in the month of Muharram.
