Iran Press/Iran News: Esmail Mousavi, the Spokesperson for the Election Office of the Iranian Ministry of Interior, criticized the Canadian government for not agreeing to hold a direct Presidential Election in Canada for Iranians living in the country, saying: "Following the Foreign Ministry's pursuit, one of the US border towns near the Canadian border has been designated as an election venue for Iranian citizens residing in Canada."
Esmail Mousavi said: "The issue was followed up through Iran's mission in New York in contact with the Canadian ambassador to the United Nations."
Mousavi added: "Unfortunately, the Canadian government has not yet responded properly to hold a direct Presidential Election in the country."
He added: "Due to the remaining time limit and the impossibility of sending executive agents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the possibility of holding the direct election has not been provided at the moment."
One of the US border towns near the Canadian border has been designated as an election venue for Iranian citizens residing in Canada, he noted.
