London (IP) - In the second month of 2023, Britain is still facing a wave of strikes in various sectors. This time more than 40,000 nurses and ambulance workers went on strike again.

Iran PressEurope: According to Iran Press from London, in continuation of the trade union strike in the United Kingdom to protest against the high cost-of-living crisis fueled by sharply rising food and energy prices, and poor working conditions, more than 40,000 nurses and ambulance workers went on strike again.

The nurses' strike, which started on February 6, 2023, will continue until next week, and on Thursday (February 9), physiotherapists will also go on strike.

British teachers stage protests against low wages

According to the British media, the largest strike of the National Health Organization employees has taken place, and more than 30,000 nurses in 73 health organizations did not go to work.

Previously, 44 nurses were involved in the strike last December, and 55 were involved in the strike in January. Also, 11,500 ambulance workers are on strike.

In Scotland, legal advisors and teachers also went on strike.

In recent months, with the sharp increase in the cost of living, the increase in utility bills, and bank interest, the employees of various sectors, such as the post office, railways, education, nurses, universities, ambulance, and bus drivers, went on strike.

Meanwhile, the union strike will continue in the coming weeks, including the strike of firefighters, teachers, and railway workers.

The strike in the UK started in the summer, and the strikers emphasized that if the government does not meet their demands, the strike will go on in the coming months.
