US State Department:

New York (IP) - The US Department of State announced in a statement that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will leave for West Asia today (Monday).

This is the 11th trip of the American diplomat to the region since the beginning of the Zionist regime's attacks against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, and it is being carried out while the Zionist regime has intensified its attacks against Gaza and Lebanon in recent weeks.

The war in Gaza has resulted in the martyrdom of nearly 43,000 Palestinian civilians. More than 2,000 people have lost their lives so far as a result of deadly attacks by the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon.

According to the US Department of State, Blinken will discuss with regional leaders the importance of ending the Gaza war, ways to draw a post-war plan for Palestine, as well as how to achieve a diplomatic solution to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

The US State Department also said Blinken's trip will begin in the occupied territories, but did not specify other destinations. 204
