Tehran (IP) - In the meeting with the Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation on Wednesday in Tehran.

Iran and China have expanded their relations on three levels: "political-economic", "security-defense" and "geopolitical-strategic."

Also, through the 25-year strategic cooperation agreement between Iran and China, which was signed in March 2021, Tehran-Beijing ties were further cemented.     

During the meeting, Amir Abdollahian underlined the continuation of consultations between governing bodies, parties, and think tanks. He also emphasized the interactions between the two countries to strengthen mutual understanding. 

Expressing satisfaction over the meeting held in Tehran, Jianchao, for his part, described strengthening people-to-people exchanges and tourism, media cooperation, and more communication between the youth, students, and elites of the two countries in the framework of interactions. 

He evaluated scientific and academic cooperation as part of deepening mutual understanding which facilitates the strengthening of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation program.

while reviewing the bilateral cooperation in the face of the agreements and documents signed during the visit of President Raisi to China in January, the parties discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Afghanistan along with the issues of mutual interest.

The Chinese delegation, who are on a 2-day trip at the official invitation of the Expediency Council, previously met and talked with the Chairman of the Expediency Council, the Secretary of the Council, and delegates of Iranian parties.
