Iran Press/America: “I am very proud of being Jewish. I actually lived in Israel for some months,” the Vermont senator participating in Democratic presidential primary debate said. “But what I happen to believe is that right now, sadly, tragically, in Israel, through Netanyahu, you have a reactionary racist who is Prime Minister.”
Also, Bernie Sanders said he would reconsider the decision to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Al Quds if elected president, CNN reported.
Sanders, who is one of two Jewish candidates, said during Tuesday’s Democratic presidential debate that he would revisit the Trump administration’s decision to relocate the embassy to Al-Quds.
The US senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, the frontrunner in the Democratic presidential race, said on Sunday 23 February that he would not attend this year's American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, saying that the group offers a platform to leaders who "express bigotry."
Sanders wrote on Twitter that he would not attend the conference held by the pro-Israel lobbying group because he is "concerned about the platform AIPAC provides for leaders who express bigotry and oppose basic Palestinian rights." The comment is referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who Sanders ripped as "racist."
