Tehran (IP) - In a phone call with Iran's acting president, the President of Syria stated that he would come to Iran to express his condolences in person on the martyrdom of the late Iranian President and Foreign Minister.

Iran PressIran news: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a phone call with Iran's acting President Mohammad Mokhber said: "I was very eager to travel to Tehran to extend my condolences on martyrdom of the later Iranian president and his companions to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in person, so I will travel to Iran at the first opportunity to express my condolences."

The people of Syria consider Martyred Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian, like Martyred Qassem Soleimani, as anti-tyrannical figures, who stood against global unilateralism and were the companions of the oppressed people in the region and around the world, thus they are eternally respected in our country, Syria.

In this telephone conversation, while appreciating the announcement of public mourning as well as the presence of the Syrian Prime Minister and accompanying delegation to participate in the last day's farewell ceremony for Martyr Raisi, Mokhber said: "Syria is a strategic partner and a constant friend of the Iranian nation, and your message and the presence of the Syrian statesmen in Iran comfort us."

The helicopter carrying the Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, and his companions, headed to Tabriz, was involved in an accident in the forest area of Dizmar between the villages of Uzi and Pir Dawood.
