Iran Press/ Iran news: A press conference on the Pope's visit to Bahrain was held on October 27, 2022, at Fars News Agency, in Tehran, with the presence of representatives of opposition groups from Bahrain.
Sheikh Abdullah Saleh emphasized: "The illegal regime of Al Khalifa has invited Pope Francis to travel to Bahrain, so we announce to all those who are going to travel to Bahrain that this regime is illegal and racist."
The other keynote speaker, a representative of top Bahraini cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqaq, also said: "We ask all the Bahraini youth and people to prevent holding this ridiculous election."
Also, the leader of Bahrain’s Al-Wafa'a Islamic Party, Sayyed Morteza Al-Sandi, declared his opposition to the elections, stating: "The people of Bahrain are against the Bahraini elections because they want to establish a just government; participation in these elections means helping the tyrant against the people of Bahrain."
He underlined that the main problem in Bahrain was with the bloodthirsty regime, which attacked and killed the people, and caused mayhem for Bahrainis every day.
Pope Francis is scheduled to travel to Bahrain from November 3 to 6, visiting the cities of Manama and Awali on the occasion of the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence.
