Iran Press/ Middle East: The bodies of all victims taken to the Palmyra state hospital had gunshot wounds to the head, state news agency SANA cited the hospital's head as saying.
State media said the victims had been gathering desert truffles when they were attacked.
Five people who were wounded were transferred to another hospital. One of the survivors told SANA that ISIS had burned their cars.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
On Feb. 12, the IS killed 11 of the 75 people it kidnapped in eastern Syria. The victims were also collecting truffles when being kidnapped.
The ISIS terrorist group took the desert region in eastern Syria as a safe area after suffering heavy losses in 2018, and frequently attack and abduct civilians and military personnel in the region.
Syrian government troops are spread across the country to maintain control over their territory.
