Assistant FM: No other option for Afghanistan except turning blind eye to past

Tehran (IP) - Iran's assistant foreign minister has stressed that there is no other option for Afghanistan other than turning a blind eye to the past and looking into the future.

Iran PressIran news: In a tweet released on Saturday, Rasoul Mousavi, assistant foreign minister and the director-general of the West Asia department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: "There is no way for Afghanistan other than dialogue, mutual understanding, compromise, leniency, and turning a blind eye to the past and looking at the future."

Posting a video on his account, Mousavi said: "Today one should make the most of opportunity to establish peace not tomorrow and it will be late too soon."

Earlier, Mousavi, during a recent visit to Kabul, had met with senior Afghan officials, including Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the High Council for Reconciliation of Afghanistan.
