Afghanistan continues importing oil from Iran

Afghanistan Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (AOGRA) said that oil import from Iran will continue.

Iran Press/Asia: Rejecting the news about bringing the amount of importing oil from Iran to zero, Afghanistan Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (AOGRA) stated that oil tankers are still coming to the country from Iran.

Earlier, some news agencies released news about zero transfer of oil from Iran to Afghanistan in the past few weeks by the country's officials order, Iran Press reported.

The US said that buyers of Iranian oil must stop purchases by May 1 or face sanctions, but some countries are still buying Iran's oil.

Oil prices hit their highest level since November 2018 in the aftermath of Washington’s decision.

Responding to a question about buying Iran's oil, China's foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday that the country will continue its legal cooperation with Iran.

China is one of the five remaining parties to the Iran nuclear deal, in addition to Britain, France, Germany, and Russia. It is also a major importer of Iranian crude oil and a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Earlier on October 14, Referring to US claim that it can reduce Iran's oil exports to zero, Iran's first vice president, Es'haq Jahangiri emphasized the impossibility of the task, saying Washington will fail in its bid. 201/213
