Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Doha to participate in the Doha Forum and the Astana Meeting on Syria, marking a significant step in regional diplomacy.

Iran Press/West Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi landed in the Qatari capital early Saturday, following his visit to Baghdad, where he attended a trilateral meeting with his counterparts from Iraq and Syria. According to the IRNA news agency, Araghchi departed Iraq for Doha shortly after concluding the talks.

During his visit, Araghchi is scheduled to engage in bilateral meetings and attend the Doha Forum, which is set to take place on December 7 and 8, bringing together prominent global leaders, policymakers, and diplomats.

Speaking earlier this week, Araghchi confirmed that the Astana talks, traditionally involving Iran, Turkey, and Russia, would also be convened in Doha due to the presence of the foreign ministers from these nations at the forum. However, Qatar is not a participant in the Astana format. "Since the ministers will already be in Doha, we decided to hold the meeting there," Araghchi explained on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The discussions are expected to focus on the ongoing Syrian crisis, regional stability, and cooperative measures to address shared challenges. The outcome of these meetings could set the stage for renewed efforts in resolving the Syrian conflict.
