Tehran (IP) - In an interview with Iraq’s Al-Furat News television network, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi highlighted the significance of Iraq being the first country chosen by Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian for an official visit. This, he emphasized, underscores the profound brotherly relations between the two nations.

Iran PressIran news: Araghchi provided details of the visit, explaining that the journey will begin in Baghdad, with planned stops in Basra, Erbil, Najaf, and Karbala.

He also expressed satisfaction with the Iraqi government's actions against groups targeting Iran from Iraqi territory, stating that "we are in constant discussions with the Iraqi side to ensure the effective implementation of the 2021 security agreement."

Araghchi emphasized that both Iran and Iraq are on the right path toward securing their borders and countering disruptive groups.
