Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had a telephone conversation with his Norwegian counterpart en route to New York.

Iran Press/Iran news: The flight carrying Foreign Minister Zarif and his entourage to New York made a short stopover in Norway. In the telephone conversation during the stopover, Zarif and Foreign Minister of Norway Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide discussed Tehran-Oslo bilateral ties, the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, and the latest regional issues.

Zarif left Tehran for New York on Saturday afternoon to take part in the high-level annual meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that after the New York meeting, Zarif is scheduled to go to Venezuela to take part in a meeting of Non-Aligned Movement foreign ministers.

Bilateral meetings with senior Venezuelan officials are also part of Foreign Minister Zarif's itinerary, Iran Press reported.

After Venezuela, Zarif will visit Nicaragua and Bolivia in South America, Mousavi added. 203/211
