Tehran (IP)- Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his condolences on the passing away of the former Palestinian ambassador to Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Salah al-Zawawi died on Monday at the age of 85 due to old age and illness in one of Tehran's hospitals.

Salah al-Zawawi was one of the founding members of the Fatah movement and was the Palestinian ambassador to Iran for 39 years.

Salah al-Zawawi ended his career last year (2022) and after him, his daughter "Salam" became the new ambassador of Palestine in Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed his condolences on the death of Salah al-Zawawi, the former Palestinian ambassador in Tehran.

In the message of Amir- Abdollahian, it is stated that during the long years of fighting against the Zionist enemy, as well as several decades of diplomatic activity in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the late al-Zawawi was always on the path of fighting for the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation, keeping alive the noble cause of Palestine and defending Holy Quds tried hard.

In the message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, it is also stated: "I hope that soon, we will witness the fruition of several decades of effort and struggle of the resistant people of Palestine, including the late Salah al-Zawawi, with the complete liberation of this holy land from the clutches of the Zionist occupation and the formation of an independent and unified Palestinian state to be the capital of Holy Quds in the entire historical land of Palestine."
