Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs said that the Americans prolonged the process of releasing Iranian prisoners.

Iran PressIran news: Alireza Bigdeli, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian expatriates Affairs said that the Iranians in American prisons who returned to Iran were faced with false accusations.

Bigdeli, who was present yesterday evening at Mehrabad airport for the return of two Iranians freed from American prisons, in response to Iran Press' question, added that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes every Iranian who lives anywhere in the world.

He added: In the past two years, we have returned about 940 Iranian prisoners to Iran from various prisons around the world.

He emphasized that the return of these two Iranians has a different value for us, considering that they faced false accusations.

It should be mentioned that Mehrdad Moin Ansari and Reza Sarhangpour returned to Iran yesterday evening after years of captivity in American prisons with false and baseless accusations.
