Tehran (IP) - The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari said on Thursday that so far, 488,236 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 399,300 of the total infected people have recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to October 8, 2020, 4,392 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 2,052 of patients were hospitalized, she said.

Lari added that in the past 24 hours, 230 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 27,888.

4,335 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

"So far, 4,232,064 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out: "Provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, and Yazd are regarded as red zones."

According to the Health Ministry Spokeswoman, provinces of Kurdestan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are on alert. 101
