Zahedan(IP)- Heading a high-ranking delegation from Tehran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's representative senior cleric Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari went to Zahedan on Sunday and held a meeting with Zahedan’s Sunni Friday Prayers leader Mowlavi Abdolhamid.

Iran PressIran news: Friday, September 30th, after the Sunni Friday prayers were performed in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan province, a group of individuals attacked police station No.16 in the vicinity of the mosque of Friday prayers; they planned to occupy the police station.

Due to the conflict between the attackers and the police forces, a number of the people either lost their lives or were injured.

The delegation, led by the Leader's representative, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Javad Hajaliakbari, held separate meetings with some families of the victims, leading Sunni scholars, and cultural activists of the province and reviewed the recent incidents that happened there.

They met on Sunday with the families of victims who were martyred when serving the security of the city in the incident, then held a meeting with the top Sunni clerics of the area, including Molavi Abulhamid, the Friday Prayer leader of the province.

Still, the delegation had a meeting with the academicians and discussed the recent issues over the recent unrest in the city. 

After attacking the police station in Zahedan, some armed people took attacked citizens and various sites, set fire to some sites, looted public and private property, and clashed with the security forces.

A number of innocent people and security forces were injured or martyred, with a number of the attackers and rioters being killed.
