Iran Press/ Europe: The Palestinian ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, described the Israeli Knesset banning UNRWA operations a declaration of war against the international order. He said Israel has bombed schools, hospitals, shelters and UNIFIL peacekeeping force bases in southern Lebanon, and now it has banned UNRWA, the largest UN humanitarian agency.
The Israeli parliament passed a bill banning aid to Palestinians by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council issued a statement on Wednesday warning against any Israeli restrictions or obstacles to UNRWA's activities.
Security Council members stressed UNRWA's vital role in providing humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees through essential education, health, relief, social services and emergency aid programs in the occupied Palestinian territories, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
