Tehran (IP) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a statement expressing deep gratitude to the many governments, nations, and international organizations that have offered their condolences and support in the wake of a helicopter incident involving President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and several officials.

Iran PressIran news: On Sunday afternoon, a helicopter carrying President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, and their entourage had an incident in the Varzaghan region of East Azerbaijan province. Despite challenging weather and environmental conditions, rescue teams are continuing their search and rescue efforts with unwavering determination and hope.

The statement reads: The Islamic Republic of Iran sincerely thanks the numerous governments, nations, and international organizations for their expressions of human emotion and solidarity with the government and people of Iran, as well as their offers of help and assistance for the search and rescue operation.

Immediately after news broke that a helicopter carrying Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and some other officials suffered a hard landing in northwestern Iran’s East Azerbaijan province on Sunday, people and various government officials across the world took to various social media platforms to pray for their safety.
