Russia (IP) – The eighth consignment of 100,000 doses of Russian vaccine 'Sputnik V' was dispatched to Tehran by Mahan Airlines on Thursday morning.

Iran PressEurope: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia, Kazem Jalali, announced that considering this number of vaccines, more than 800,000 doses had been delivered to Iran so far.

The 7th shipment of the Russian ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine, comprising of 100,000 doses, arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran on April 29.

Under the agreement signed between the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Russian Direct Investment Fund, a total of two million doses of Sputnik V vaccine will be sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran at this stage of the agreement.

Researchers from the Russian Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology announced on April 20 that new findings from a study of the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine on 3.8 million people show that the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine is 97.6%.
