The field of special care in the country is novice; but scientifically, it has a good position in the region, he added.
Savadkohi continued: One of the problems and challenges of the intensive care unit in the country is the lack of ICU beds, so that we have a shortage of at least 12 thousand intensive care beds.
The head of Iran's International Intensive Care Congress added: The share of ICU beds in hospital beds should be 10% which is not the case at the moment. That is, out of 200 thousand hospital beds in the country, 20 thousand beds should belong to special care, which is not the case, and we have a maximum of 8 thousand ICU beds.
