At least seven people died and nine were injured when a building collapsed in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, local police said.

Iran PressAsia: The incident occurred in the Daurala area of Uttar Pradesh, nearly 75 miles (120 km) away from Delhi.

All the dead were blue-collar workers, a police officer said, adding that nine people were injured and were admitted to a local government hospital.

"There was a blast inside a cold storage due to an ammonia gas leak. As a result of the blast, the building collapsed. Several people were trapped under the rubble. Seven dead bodies have been recovered," the police officer added.
