Iran Press/Iran news: "From the 4 million foreigners specially Afghani people who live in Iran, about 500 thousands of Afghani children study in Iran without any payments," Mahmoud Abbassi said.
Talking to chief of the Children's Rights Committee of the United Nations in Geneva, Renate Winter, Abbassi added that in the four past decades, Iran has been the host of more than four million people from different countries. It is despite the fact that the whole European Union could not welcome tens of thousands' war-torn Syrian and Iraqi people, Iran Press reported.
Iranian official added: "European countries have closed their doors to people from Iraq and Syria who fled from their war-torn countries."
Referring to the devastating condition of children in Palestine and Yemen, he criticized international community for staying silent despite witnessing Saudi and Israeli's crimes.
Mahmoud Abbassi added that international community's silence has given green light to Israel and Saudi Arabia for committing crime against Palestinians and Yemeni people.
For his part, chief of the Children's Rights Committee of the United Nations, Renate Winter said that Iran have taken big steps for improvement of children rights. 101/201
