Iran Press/Middle East: Iraqi caretaker Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi ordered the declaration of national mourning for the souls of the martyrs for three days as of Saturday, his office said in a statement on Saturday.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, military commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force, Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, the deputy chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization (al-Hashed al-Sha'abi), along with a number of other military figures were martyred by direct order of US president President Donald Trump in the early hours of Friday morning 3 January 2020.
Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people held a funeral procession for the martyred legendary Iranian General Qasem Soleimani as well as the martyred Deputy Chief of Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, in the cities of Kadhimiya, Karbala, and Najaf.
