Iran Press/West Asia: According to local reports, it is the largest Israeli military raid on the occupied West Bank in decades.
At least 18 Palestinians were killed and more than 22 wounded after the first day of the incursion on Wednesday.
In the latest development, the Israeli military claimed that its forces killed the Tulkarem Battalion's commander, Mohamed Jaber, also known as Abu Shuja in a fierce firefight in the Nur Shams refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
In a dawn attack by the Israeli military on the ground supported by snippers and Jets flying at low altitudes, eyewitnesses say that Israeli forces fired randomly at everything moving in the camp.
They have also besieged the Thabet Hospital and the al-Israa Specialised Hospital.
On wedensday, more than 20 Palestinian were arrested by Israeli forces. Palestinian officials in a statement said that children were among those detained.
The UN’s Humanitarian Office (OCHA) in its weekly report noted that at least 136 Palestinians have been killed and 41 wounded in Israeli air attacks since October 2023.
