Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, introduced the Secretary-General’s fifth report on the implementation of Council resolution 2231 (2015), saying that since the Plan of Action’s entry into force on 16 January 2016, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had consistently reported almost for 11 times that Iran was abiding by its nuclear-related commitments. Unfortunately, however, the agreement was currently at a crossroads, she said, reiterating the Secretary-General’s deep regret at the announcement by the United States .

The Britain's ambassador to UN also announced that it will stay committed to JCPOA like UN and EU and expressed regret over US withdrawal from JCPOA. Referring to the claims made by Israel,Saudi Arabia ,Bahrain and United Arab Emirates ,he continued to accuse Iran of sending weapons across the Middle East .
Responding to the claims made by US representative,Gholamali Khuoshru Iran's ambassador to UN while assimilating UN and its relations with the world countries as a world cup like phenomenon ,he condemned unilateralism followed by US politicians which is also not desired by most countries across the world.
On May 8, US pulled his country out of the JCPOA, which was achieved in Vienna in 2015 after years of negotiations among Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
Following the US exit, Iran and the remaining parties launched talks to save the accord.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has underlined that any decision to keep the JCPOA running without the US should be conditional on “practical guarantees” from the Europeans.
