Iran Press/ Iran news: Explaining the UN Special Rapporteur's visit to Iran, Kazem Gharibabadi said: "The Special Rapporteur's visit is an opportunity to get acquainted with the destructive impacts of sanctions on the Iranian people."
Kazem Gharibabadi, Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary-General of the I.R of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, commented on the visit of UN Special Rapporteur Alena Douhan to the Islamic Republic of Iran to investigate the negative impacts of unilateral coercive measures:
"Following the Special Rapporteur's request to travel to Iran and our acceptance of this request, Ms. Douhan will have an 11-day visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran from May 8th." Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary-General of the I.R of Iran's High Council for Human Rights said.

He added: "Ms. Douhan's main mission is to investigate the negative impacts of unilateral coercive measures on people's enjoyment of human rights, and in this regard, she will hold various meetings with representatives of Iran's government agencies, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations. As well as visiting some other centers."
In 2014, the UN Human Rights Council adopted in a resolution the Special Rapporteur mechanism for examining the negative impacts of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights by individuals. Western countries vote against this resolution every year.
