Concurrent with control of Taliban; Germany stops aid to Afghanistan

The German Minister for Development announced the discontinuance of aid to Afghanistan.

Iran PressEurope: A responsible minister announced the news in Angela Merkel's cabinet after the return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan.
"Currently, government cooperation on development with Afghanistan has been suspended," German Development Minister Gerd Müller told a German newspaper.
The German official added that Berlin is rapidly trying to evacuate official staff and staff from non-governmental development institutions who want to leave Afghanistan.
Currently, the situation in Afghanistan is vague and uncertain.
After Ashraf Ghani fled Afghanistan and the Taliban took control of the capital, many Western countries withdrew their troops and diplomats from Afghanistan.
Earlier, the British Prime Minister had said in a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the developments in Afghanistan that she would use her bilateral and multilateral influence to persuade international partners to take a common approach to respond to Afghanistan's challenges.
Germany has the largest military force in Afghanistan after the United States. It claims to plan to airlift thousands of German-Afghan dual nationals and human rights activists, lawyers, and colleagues.
