IRGC high ranking commander:

Tehran (IP) - IRGC Deputy Coordinator said that '9th of Dey' (December 30, 2009) is the day of the Iranian nation because people across the country stood against the sedition to support Islamic Revolution and Leader.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi in the commemoration ceremony of the "9th of Dey" in Lolagar Mosque in Southern Tehran, said: "In the '9th of Dey march', despite the fact that the people stood by the revolution, some people who were once high-ranking officials of Iran, were behind sedition."

The Deputy Coordinator of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps stated: "The ring leaders of sedition in 2009 who had the full western media support attributed themselves to Late Imam Khomeini with slogans of the early times of the Islamic Revolution's victory for the aim of deconstructive activities against Revolution.

The IRGC Deputy Coordinator said: "The Leader of the Islamic Revolution is the person who was closest to the thought of Imam Khomeini and continued the Islamic Revolution of Iran without retreating from the path of Imam Khomeini and in the events of 2009 stood by the people."

The nation-wide demonstrations followed months of 2009 unrest in the wake of presidential elections when they decided to close ranks and demonstrate Iranians' prudence in rejecting disorder and lawlessness as instructed by the leader.

The massive rallies were held days after Tasua and Ashura religious processions in the mourning month of Muharram which was used by supporters of the defeated presidential candidates as an opportunity to repeat their claims of vote-rigging in June 2009 elections.

The Dey 9 Epic was indeed a turning point in that it dismayed the enemies of the Islamic Revolution who had invested in the electoral fraud allegations.

It also saved the nation from machinations of ill-wishers who fanned discord among Iranians to secure their vested interests against the Iranian people.
