Iran Press/ Iran news: Laya Joneydi, vowed on Sunday to pursue the intrusion into Iranian airspace of a US surveillance and spying drone in international courts of law, stressing that intrusion into land, sea and airspace of Iran is unacceptable under any circumstances.
Joneydi emphasised that Iran does not want to enter into war with any country and will take all necessary precautions to avoid war.
Danger of Going Back to Square One
Turning to FATF's decision to renew the suspension of countermeasures against Iran until its next meeting in October, Joneydi welcomed the renewal of suspension of countermeasures but warned that step-by-step countermeasures are being introduced against Iran, something which is unwelcome and worrying, and there is a danger that we might go back to square one.
She pointedly added: "We must not allow that to happen."
In further remarks, Joneydi said the Expediency Council must speed up its deliberations regarding the Palermo Convention and CFT, and hopefully with endorsement of these two pieces of legislation we must stop further countermeasures against Iran and allay fears that Iran's name will be reintroduced into the the FATF blacklist.
Normal Financial and Banking Relations, the Right of the Iranian People
The Vice president went on to emphasise that introduction of more FATF countermeasures against Iran will only make foreign banks nervous, and less willing to do business with Iran.
Joneydi stressed that it is the right of the Iranian people, and it is in the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran to have normal economic, trade and banking relations with the rest of the world.
In further comments Iran's Vice President for legal affairs, Laya Joneydi said the Expediency Council must weigh up this issue carefully, and do whatever is right for the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
