Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the Mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini (may his souls rest in peace) in south Tehran on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the divine ascension of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei praised the many characteristics of the late Imam, especially the fact that he never accepted tyranny, oppression, and injustice, and also the Imam's resilience and steadfastness.
The Leader stressed that Imam Khomeini had unparalleled charisma attracting the hearts of masses of people everywhere. "This was quite a unique and unmatched characteristic of the Imam", he said.

In further remarks, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution thanked and praised the million-strong presence of the Iranian people and Muslims throughout the world on the occasion of International Quds Day, saying the demonstrations and rallies showed the world the massive support for the Palestinian cause and the worldwide condemnation of Zionist crimes and atrocities.

The Leader poignantly added: "One of the most important characteristics of Imam Khomeini was his resilience and resistance to oppressors and tyrants, and his refusal to surrender when faced with obstacles and problems of all kind. Another important characteristic was that no matter how hard the enemy tried, they couldn't disrupt or scupper the calculations of the late Imam. During long years of struggle, many were disappointed and lost their hope but Imam Khomeini was always hopeful and stood firmly against Tyrants and oppressors both inside and outside of Iran."

The Leader asked rhetorically: "What is the meaning of resistance? Resistance means choosing the correct path, the path of truth and righteousness, and never wavering, faltering, and never stopping in the righteous path, no matter how hard the enemy tries."
