Iran Press / Iran News: Speaking on Saturday, foreign ministry spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said: “There has been no request from Iran for negotiations with the United States."
On negotiations with Saudi Arabia, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman, added that Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to separate the issues concerning Hajj pilgrimage from various political issues, Iran Press reported.
The official also said that Iran follows a 'transparent' policy toward its neighbours that is based on mutual respect, good neighbourly ties in line with cooperation and dialogue.
“All of Iran’s neighbours that consider regional and international realities and developments realistically are given top priority for building constructive relations with based on mutual respect,” Mousavi noted.
He described Saudi Arabia as 'an important country in the region', however criticized its 'unconstructive' approach and an incorrect path that has caused many crises and hardships in the region'.
Mousavi expressed hope that Saudi officials return soon to the path of sincere well-wishing for the regional nations in good faith.
“In such a situation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as always, will be ready for interaction with the Saudis within the framework of regional and bilateral cooperation,” he said.
Also in his statements, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman welcomed the Nigerian government’s 'positive move' to permit a medical team to visit and examine Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of Nigeria’s Shia community, and his wife.
Mousavi also expressed hope that with Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife receiving full medical attention inside or outside Nigeria, the trend of interaction and constructive talks between authorities of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and the Nigerian government will result in the settlement of problems and the release of the top cleric, according to the official website of Iran’s Foreign Ministry. 212/ 211/105
