Zarif, Lavrov discuss Iran nuclear deal, Syria over the phone

Iranian and Russian foreign ministers discussed the JCPOA and situation in Syria through a phone call.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Sergei Lavrov and Mohammad Javad Zarif the foreign ministers of Russia and Iran held a phone conversation on Monday to discuss Syria and issues related to Iran nuclear deal or the JCPOA.

According to Mehr news agency sited from Sputnik, the two top diplomats also exchanged views on international and regional issues, including how to advance the peace process in Syria within the framework of the twelfth Astana talks.

In Astana 11 final statement, the guarantor states reaffirmed their determination to fight terrorism in Syria in order to ultimately eliminate ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and all other entities associated with them.
