Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has lambasted the Trump administration for labeling the IRGC as a terrorist organization, forthrightly stating that the US government is not qualified to judge who is a terrorist, given America's grim record of assisting and arming terrorist groups all over the world, including in Iraq and Syria.

Iran Press/Iran news: President Hassan Rouhani has admonished the United States government in a prime-time televised speech on Iranian television for waging an economic war against Iran and for branding the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization, poignantly adding that this action of US, if anything, has made the IRGC even more popular and liked by the Iranian nation, Iran Press reported.

Rouhani said: “At that time, we needed a pious, devoted corps to stand against the US and guarantee peace and security for Iran.”

He then referred to the 8-year Imposed War with Iraq, adding, “The day our enemies imposed the war on us, announcing that they would have an interview in Iran the next week, all forces, at the top of them the IRGC, stood against the enemies that were armed to the teeth.”

Elsewhere in his televised speech, President Rouhani addressed America's leadership by saying: "You cannot stop Iran's progress in science and technology. If you intended to weaken Iran's military by imposing sanctions, then you have failed. Our military today is stronger and more formidable than ever before."

Lambasting the Trump administration for labeling IRGC a terrorist organization, president Rouhani said America is the 'leading sponsor of terrorism all over the world'. He also pointedly said: "Everything you do in relation to Iran is tinged with terrorism."

Turning to the economy, Rouhani said America's sanctions have failed to cripple Iran's economy, saying the economy is thriving and moving towards self-sufficiency.  103/211
