The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has ordered the armed forces to fully support flood victims in Golestan and Mazandaran provinces.

Iran Press/Iran news: Following an order by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to the head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the armed forces have been mobilized to help flood victims of northern Iran. The Leader ordered top commanders of the IRGC, the Army, the Police and the Ministry of Defense, in addition to the humanitarian, logistical and health assistance they are providing, to continue their comprehensive and coherent support of the victims in flood-stricken areas, in order to reassure the general public and give peace of mind to the flood victims.

In this regard, Maj. Gen. Bagheri sent the deputy head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the head of a delegation of senior commanders to flood-stricken regions, to establish the necessary coordination for relief and rescue operations by the armed forces, according to an Iran Press report.

Golestan and Mazandaran provinces in northern Iran have been affected by heavy rains for the past few days. The floods have forced many people to flee their homes, particularly in Aqqala and Gomishan cities in Golestan province, where evacuations have been ordered to prevent further human losses.
