Iran Press/Iran news: In the latest QS thematic rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds) was announced on February 27, 2019, Sharif University of Technology managed to be ranked 308 in the engineering field with a rise of 150 in rankings.
In this ranking also, Sharif University of Technology has been announced as the best university of Iran in the fields of chemistry and physics (natural sciences), computer engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering (engineering and technology) and statistics and operational research (Management).
Abdul Reza Simchi, director of international affairs department at Sharif University evaluated this success as a result of the performance of professors in teaching and research and promoting the level of international cooperation, reported Iran Press citing IRNA.
He added that in the thematic ranking of the past year, Sharif University of Technology was successful in only one comprehensive field and three disciplines, but in 2018 it was ranked in two broad fields and nine disciplines. In addition, the university's credit rating index has been improved in various fields of engineering, basic science, and management.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are compiled annually to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject. Research citations, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics are used to rank universities. 104/211/203
