Iran Press/Iran news: The draw meant that Iran and Iraq finished their group stage commitments with seven points apiece. However, Iran's 'Team Melli' emerged as the winner of the group, thanks to Iran's superior goal difference, according to an Iran Press report. Team Melli is one of the favourites for winning the tournament, AFC Asian Cup 2019.
As winners of Group D Iran's 'Team Melli' will now play on Sunday 20 January at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Iran will play one of Lebanon, North Korea, Palestine, Turkmenistan or Oman.
