Senior Hamas official said that dissolution of Palestine parliament is an illegal act.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to the possibility of dissolution of Palestine's parliament, Senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar added that it is an illegal act and in violation of Palestinian constitution.

"Fatah movement always violates Palestinian constitution," the Senior Hamas official noted in an exclusive interview with Iran Press news agency.

"Parliament makes its' end, when its' term ends. Then a new parliament would be created. Since 2006 no election took place," Mahmoud al-Zahar added.

"In the agreement which was signed by the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas), Fatah movement and some other Palestinian groups in 2011, it was agreed that the election should take place and its' result should be respected by all sides," the Senior Hamas official said.

"But Mahmoud Abbas does not like the election because he knows that he would lose the election," Mahmoud al-Zahar noted.

"According to Palestinian constitution, the constitutional court is illegal and has no power. So the parliament will continue its' activities till the creation of the new parliament," the Senior Hamas official said.

"Mahmoud Abbas became President of the Palestinian Authority for two terms due to the result of an election which is illegal. Then he extended his presidency which is also illegal," Mahmoud al-Zahar added.

Answering to a question about the movements from some Arab nations to normalize their relations with Israel, Mahmoud al-Zahar said that Al-Quds is the capital of Palestine and no agreement or lobbying can deprive Palestinians from their rights.

"Cooperation with Zionist regime which is the enemy of Muslims is not in accordance with Palestinians' rights. Resistance is the only choice of Palestinians, because that was the resistance which forced occupiers to leave Gaza in 2005, and God willing, it will force them to leave the entire Palestinians' territory," Senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar concluded.

Iranian Foreign Minister met and conferred with Mahmoud al-Zahar, the head of a Palestinian parliamentary delegation at the Foreign Ministry in Tehran on Sunday.

The two sides talk about issues of mutual interest, as well as the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. 105/201
