Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, on Tuesday, October 30, huge numbers of mourners all cross Iran, took part in the Arbaeen mourning ceremonies to commemorate the martyrdom of the Chief of Martyrs Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The residents of the Iranian capital participated in the Arbaeen walk which passed through some of Tehran's main squares, streets and boulevards, such as "Shohada" square, "Khorasan" square, 17th Shahrivar street, "Shoush" square, Fadaeeyan-e-Islam Street, and "Shahr-e-Rey" square.
Like the residents of Tehran, the people of Ardabil, the ancient city which is located on the Baliqly Chay River, about 70 km from the Caspian Sea, also showed their great respect toward the Chief of Martyrs Imam Hussein through their contribution to massive mourning ceremonies on the sad occasion of Arbaeen.
The true followers of Imam Hussein(peace be upon him) living in the historic city of Shiraz in southern Iran, the provincial capital of Fars province, attended various mourning ceremonies arranged to commemorate Arbaeen.
The people of Yazd also participated in Arbaeen mourning ceremonies to pledge allegiance with the grandson of the Holy Prophet (SW) who sacrificed himself and his family for the sake of Allah.
The residents of the Northern city of Rasht which is the largest city on Iran's Caspian Sea coast held tearful mourning and lamentation ceremonies on the heart-rending occasion of Arbaeen which commemorates 40th day after the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him ), and members of his family and loyal companions.
The warm blooded people of the Southern port city of Bandar Abbas also took to the streets, Takkiyas as well as Mosques, Husseiniyehs and religious centers to commemorate Imam Hussein's heartrending martyrdom, the eternal hero who will be always remembered in the hearts of the true believers and the followers of righteous guidance.
Arbaeen, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shiite Imam, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
