Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council Ali Shamkhani in the press conference on Wednesday called for pursuing the parallel actions to counter terrorism.

Iran Press/Irannews: In response to Iran Press correspondent's question about countering terrorism, Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council Ali Shamkhani said two parallel actions should be taken in this regard. The first one is a field action and the other one is a root action which should be soft and longstanding.

Shamkhani's remarks came in a press conference held at the end of the first meeting of security secretaries and advisers of regional states in Tehran.

"The field action took place successfully in Iraq and Syria, but it is going to spread into Afghanistan, so the appropriate action should be done against it by cooperation between countries," Shamkhani added.

By referring to the issues like eliminating Takfiri ideology, drying out its' financial resources, Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council said: "These are the effective tools against two arms of terrorism."

Iran's security chief compares Trump with Saddam over the issue of negotiation

Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council Ali Shamkhani in the press conference compared US president Donald Trump with Saddam over the issue of negotiation with Iran.

By referring to the Sacred Defense era, Shamkhani said: "On one occasion in that era, Saddam regime's forces were near Ahvaz city. He was saying about his readiness to negotiate with Iran but he neither retreated, nor admitted to starting the war against Iran."

"Trump's recent suggestion is the reflection of reality that we experience on that specific time. We could not win the war until we stood on our feet. It was then that with the support of Iranian people we kicked Saddam out of our country," Shamkhani stated.

"We should make Trump disappointed in his economic war with Iran. The negotiation that trump wants is in the framework of the economic war against Iran," Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council noted.

"Actually, this kind of suggestion for negotiation is part of war, so even considering it, is impossible," Shamkhani added.

"We will not win the war until we make Trump disappointed. But it would not be possible without the presence of Iranian people, and without field mobility. It is also not possible without using the willpower and firmness of all Iranian authorities to defeat the strategy of US economic war," Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council said.

Last night, reactions in the united nation session were all anti American. Trump's talks, reactions, and also the discourse of other countries including US allies made a division between Washington and other countries of the world," Shamkhani concluded.

Before the press conference, Secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council Ali Shamkhani warned about relocation of defeated terrorists from Iraq and Syria to Afghanistan.

"A huge political operation is going on with money from some countries in order to transfer defeated terrorists from Iraq and Syria to Afghanistan and to its' outer borders," Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said to reporters in the sideline of the first meeting of security secretaries and advisers of regional states.
