Iranian president Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday discussed issues of mutual interest with prime ministers of Belgium, Armenia and Norway in New York.

Iran Press/Irannews: Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in his separate meetings in New York with Belgian prime minister Charles Michel, Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan and Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg, discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest  with the prime ministers of the three countries.

Rouhani's meeting with the Belgian prime minister revealed the fact that despite US unilateralism Belgium is keen to improve and expand its relations with Iran. The meeting took place at the residence of the Iranian president in New York.

Hassan Rouhani also met with Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan at the residence of the Iranian President in New York. The two senior officials discussed issues of mutual interests as well as regional cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan.

Meanwhile, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani held talks with Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The two discussed bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.

Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, addressing world leaders at the 73rd UN general assembly meeting on Tuesday has emphasized that unfair US unilateral sanctions can be viewed as a form of economic terrorism.

According to an Iran Press report, addressing world leaders in New York president Rouhani drew the attention of the international community  to a string of violations of international treaties and accords by the Trump administration, and admonished the US leadership for abrogating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as the Iran nuclear deal.

Rouhani arrived in New York Sunday evening to attend the high profile meeting.

During his stay in New York, Rouhani has so far held meetings with American political elites, his Cuban, Bolivian and Turkish counterparts, head of the International Olympic Committee, director of the International Monetary Fund, Chief Executive of Afghanistan and Norwegian prime minister.

He also held talks with French president, Emanuel Macron, and British prime minister, Theresa May.
