Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader, has emphasized that establishing diplomatic relations with other countries is in Iran's best interest, since it will neutralize Western pressures upon the country.

Addressing  a huge crowd of worshipers in Tehran's Friday prayers congregation, interim Friday Prayers leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said:  "The Leader of the Islamic revolution has offered instructions on diplomatic activities.  We have diplomatic ties with the entire world except the US and the Zionist regime, since the regime is a fabricated one, and the diplomatic relations with the US will not be established until it comes to its senses."

Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said:  "The dispatch of the Leader's special envoy to Russia and relations with China and India are consistent with the laws.  If the US and Europe see Iran in a deadlock, they will increase their pressures."

'Per policy of dignity, wisdom and exigency, they should not be allowed to bully because it is the right and fixed policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran,' the senior cleric said.

The Leader of the Islamic revolution's special envoy, Ali-Akbar Velayati visited Moscow last week and met with senior Russian officials, in order to convey and hand-deliver messages from the Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and  President Hassan Rouhani to his host.
