The German Minister of State, Niels Annen, described Hezbollah as "relevant factor in Lebanon stability", and said Berlin won't blacklist the resistance movement.

Iran Press/Europe: Germany has refused to follow Britain’s lead in blacklisting Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah as a terrorist organization in defiance of pressure from United States and Saudi Arabia.

Niels Annen, German Minister of State in an interview with weekly news magazine Der Spiegel after his visit to Lebanon said: "Hezbollah is a relevant factor in Lebanese society and Germany is interested in Lebanese stability", Press TV reported.

Berlin made the decision despite the fact that it may fuel tensions with Saudi Arabia and the United States, which have been pressurizing their allies to ban the Lebanese resistance movement.

The German Minister of State also commented on US criticism of Berlin's policy vis-a-vis Iran and said his country's foreign policy remained focused on finding political solutions even in tough situations.

The British government last month designated the Hezbollah organization as a terrorist entity. It had previously blacklisted Hezbollah's military wing as a "terrorist group."

Resistance will emerge victorious over imposed financial war: Nasrallah

Hezbollah is strongly supported by the people of Lebanon and has a strong representation in the country’s political process, especially after its victory in last year’s elections, where it won over half of the parliamentary seats.

Hezbollah strongly condemned the move, and described it as an insult to the Lebanese nation.

"The British government, in this decision, insulted the sentiments and the free will of the Lebanese people, who consider Hezbollah such a political and popular force that they granted it big representation in Parliament and Cabinet,” Hezbollah said in a statement released after the UK’s decision.

On 8 March, the secretary general of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed that the movement will emerge victorious over the US-Israeli imposed financial war. 101/211/205
