Scores of Saudi-backed mercenaries were killed and injured after Yemeni troops and fighters from popular committees repelled their infiltration attack in the southwestern Taiz province.

Iran Press/Middle East: The army troops foiled the infiltration attempt on Wednesday in Makbana district, Taiz, killing and injuring scores of them, a military source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Saba news agency.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, has engaged in military aggression against Yemen and ground sieges, naval and air strikes since March 2015.

The war initiated by Saudi Arabia and its allies has killed more than 16,000 Yemeni people including thousands of women and children, injuring tens of thousands more, and displacing millions of Yemenis. 105
