The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said at Azadi Sport Complex on Thursday to the Basij volunteer forces that Iran's invincibility is not a mere slogan.

According to an Iran Press report, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has delivered  a speech to a large gathering of Iran’s Basij volunteer forces and senior military officials at the 100,000-capacity Azadi sports stadium in the capital, Tehran on Thursday morning.

The Leader addressing a huge crowd of young Basij forces and military personnel on Thursday said: "The power and glory of Islamic Iran, the authority and clout of the Islamic republic, and the invincibility of Islamic Iran are not just mere slogans or hollow slogans, it is an actual reality".

Commenting further the Leader said: Grandeur of Iran is a historic reality. The Leader acknowledged that during the Qajar and Pahlavi periods the country had stagnated for about  200 years under the domination of colonial and hegemonic powers, but he said, for the past 40 years, Islamic Iran has overcome the enemies, stood up to them, and scuppered all their plots and schemes, and has advanced rapidly in different fields of science and technology, making eye-catching progress.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, attributed Iran's successes during the past 40 years, including its success in the eight-year-imposed war, to the firm and unwavering belief of the Iranian nation in Islam, Islamic teachings and Quranic principles.

The Leader went on to warn about pride and complacency, saying if we don't try hard enough, and if we suffer from complacency and pride, then we will surely be on the path to failure.

The Leader went on to encourage young people to continue their efforts, particularly in science and technology which is the driving engine for the country's advancement. He pointedly added; "The younger generation is the driving force for change and advancement of the nation"

Addressing the tens of thousands of young people in Azadi stadium, the Leader said: "The enemy does not know the Iranian nation, they don't know the talents and determination of young Iranians. They haven't understood the Islamic revolution. They thought the Islamic revolution will wither away within six months or a year. Here we are 40 years later, and we are stronger than ever before, going from strength to strength !!"

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also had a word of warning for those who either knowingly or unknowingly play into the hands of the enemies, people who utter what the enemy wants to hear. He pointedly added: "Those who deliberately say what the enemy wants to hear are traitors to this country. They are betraying the Islamic Republic."

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said the enemy wants to paint a false picture of Iran, and he went on to warn: "Media as a tool in the hands of the enemy can be a very dangerous thing. As dangerous as chemical weapons."

He poignantly added: "They are using Western media, internet and cyberspace to spread propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran. But if the enemy sees we are united and speak with one voice, it will retreat and step back. However, if they sense division within our ranks, they will be emboldened and continue with their anti-Iran efforts."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added that Islamic republic in the past 40 years stood up to enemies' effort. Effort, planning and courage is necessary for success. Young people play a major role in achieving success. Young people offer solution to problems.

The Leader stated that for confronting  the enemy, three steps are necessary, the first step is to be aware of the enemy's presence, the second step is determination to resistance, and the third step is self confidence and strong will against the enemy.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the authority and power of the Islamic republic is rooted in its political stability, national unity, military presence in the region, and scientific and technological development. Our enemies pretend to be powerful but they are not.

Turning to the United States , the Leader said Trump's comments about Iran are like those of his predecessors.

The Leader added: "Iran is facing economic hardship, but our economic problems can be solved.  The enemies are trying to portray a false image of Iran."

The great gathering of "The Service by Mobilized Forces" where tens of thousands of Basij members (Mobilized Forces) from Tehran Province have come together commenced at Azadi Stadium today.
