Qom (IP) - A commemoration and mourning ceremony for the late Ayatollah Mohaghegh Kaboli, one of Afghanistan's leading religious scholars, was held in the city of Qom on Thursday, attended by sources of emulation, religious scholars and huge numbers of ordinary people and mourners from Qom.

Iran Press/Iran news: The office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Qom organised the commemoration and mourning ceremony.

Ayatollah Mohaghegh Kaboli was one of Afghanistan's leading Shiite scholars. 

Mourners carried the coffin of Ayatollah Mohaghegh Kaboli on their shoulders from Imam Hassan Askari Mosque to the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (Peace be Upon her) in Qom, where the leading Shiite scholar was laid to rest in eternal peace, reported Iran Press.

Last Monday, one of Afghanistan's leading Shiite scholars and source of emulation, Ayatollah GhorbanAli Mohaghegh Kaboli passed away in the Holy city of Qom in central Iran. He was one of Afghanistan' top religious' scholars, having served Islam and Muslims for many decades.
