Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif

The Iranian Foreign Minister has emphasized that as long as the United States supports and undertakes terrorist action, there will be no negotiations with Washington.

Iran Press/Iran news: Zarif made the remark in an interview with al-Arabia television channel on Tuesday. He said as long as US persists with its acts of terrorism and support for terrorism, there will be no dialogue of any kind or any negotiations with Washington.

In his interview with al-Arabia television, Zarif also criticised the policies of some regional countries.

Turning to US sanctions against Iran Zarif said: "The economic war waged by US president [Donald Trump] against Iran is a form of Terrorism, and as long as the US persists with its current terrorist action, there will be no dialogue or discussions of any kind with Washington."

Zarif pointedly added: "America is waging an economic war against Iran. War is war, whether it is economic or military. Iran will never allow the United States to impose a unilateral war on the Iranian nation without paying a price. The Americans will definitely pay 'a high price'.

In further remarks, Zarif said: "Iran has excellent relations with many regional countries, but there are some Arab countries in the region who feel their security is guaranteed by the United States. Sadly, they are mistaken."

The Iranian Foreign Minister also commented specifically on the United Arab Emirates saying the UAE spent billion of dollars last year purchasing advanced weaponry, and the country seems to be aiming to become 'a new Israel'.

Zarif's full interview with al-Arabia television channel will be aired on Wednesday. 211/213
