Tehran (IP) - A group of Iranians marched outside the Foreign Ministry in Terhan, demanding the immediate release of detained leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaki.

Iran PressIran news: Youth Organization for the Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran had invited the public and justice seekers to participate in the gathering.

Participants protested the silence against the years of captivity and attempted murder of Sheikh Zekzaki.

Sheikh Zakzaki has been held in detention since December 2015 and was charged just in April 2018 with unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace, allegations that are rejected by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).

In 2016, Nigeria’s federal high court ordered his unconditional release from jail following a trial, but the government has so far refused to set him free.
